Tablets have built-in features to put the device to sleep when inactive. This may prevent your tablet from playing a sound on an incoming order, which can disrupt the restaurant activity or cause printing delays.
To avoid that situation to happen, please make sure that your tablet is always plugged into the power outlet and proceed with the below steps to disable its battery optimization feature:
- Tap on the Settings App
- Scroll down until you see ‘Apps’; tap on this
- Scroll down to find ‘Otter’ and tap on it
- Tap on ‘Battery’
- Tap on ‘Optimize Battery Usage
- Tap on ‘Apps not Optimized.’ Select ‘All’
- Tap on the magnifying glass. Search ‘Otter.’ Depending on your tablet, you may see ‘Otter’ and ‘Otter Printer Companion.’ Make sure both are TOGGLED OFF
- Press back until you end up back on the ‘Settings’ screen. Tap on ‘Device Care’
- Tap on Battery
- Tap on ‘Power Mode’
- Turn off ‘Adaptive Power Saving’
- Go back, and tap on ‘App Power Management’
- Turn OFF ‘Adaptive Battery’ and ‘Put Unused Apps to Sleep'
