Direct Orders - Online Ordering (Delivery)

Direct Orders allow restaurants to set the delivery as a "fulfillment mode" so that Eaters can now choose and select an order for delivery, pickup, or dine-in.

Restaurants can configure their delivery settings using the Direct Orders Merchant App hosted in Otter. These settings can be configured at the org or store level and include:

  • Enabling delivery as a fulfillment mode
  • Delivery radius (miles/km)
  • Delivery fee
  • Estimated delivery time
  • Min/max basket size

Eater App

Eaters will be able to select Delivery as a fulfillment mode when visiting a restaurant’s Direct Orders site. Eaters will be prompted to input their address powered by Google API to validate that it’s in the delivery area set by the restaurant before browsing the menu and creating their cart.

On the checkout screen, Eaters will be able to change their fulfillment mode, schedule a time for their delivery, input additional delivery instructions, and view the delivery fee.

Features:

  • Address validation through Google
  • Delivery instructions
  • Delivery status on the order status page (Confirmed, Prepared, Ready, Out for delivery, Delivered)
  • Eater updates through email and SMS text messages.
