Overview

Once you have successfully set up your payment method for Direct Orders, they can start getting paid for orders fulfilled with this solution! This guide outlines how to receive payments for both Online Ordering and Digital Dine-in. 

Process

Online Ordering

Use Payments in Direct Orders (Online Ordering)
Step # Actions  Additional Info. 
1 Access the Online Ordering menu through the Direct Orders link.  Your Direct Orders link can be embedded into your website, social media channels, etc. 
2 Select the items you would like to include in the order, then taps the Checkout button.   
3 Enter the payment information, then finalize the order.    
4 Once the order is fulfilled, the order's payment is processed through Stripe.   
5 Stripe deposits the order's payment directly into your bank account.   

Digital Dine-In

Use Payouts in Direct Orders (Digital Dine-in)

1 Access the Digital Dine-in menu through the in-store QR menu.  To access your Digital Dine-in menu, you must scan your menu's QR code with a mobile device.
2 Select the items you would like to include in the order, then taps the Checkout button.   
3 Enter the payment information, then finalize the order.   
4 Once the order is fulfilled, the order's payment is processed through Stripe.   
5 Stripe deposits the order's payment directly into your bank account.   

 

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do Otter or Stripe take any commissions from an order's payment before I receive it?

A: Direct Orders is 100% commission-free, but Stripe does take a small commission from each payment processed. See Stripe's Pricing page for more details.

Q: Does my Direct Orders account need to be connected to Stripe to receive payments?

A: Yes. Direct Orders uses Stripe to provide payment for completed orders – your account must be connected to Stripe before you can be paid. 

Q: Can Digital Dine-in customers pay for their in-store orders with cash?

A: No. Digital Dine-in orders require a digital payment method, like a credit card. We recommend that orders paid in cash be fulfilled through your usual POS system.
