Overview
In the same way that coupons can be created and added in Direct Orders, they can also be deactivated, ensuring that customers can no longer use them. This guide demonstrates how to deactivate Direct Orders coupons for both Online Ordering and Digital Dine-in.
Process
Deactivate Coupons in Direct Orders

1 | Log into Otter Dashboard. | |
2 | From the Apps menu in the top-left of the screen, select Marketing. | Marketing is the last option in the Apps drop-down menu. |
3 | On the far-left side of the Marketing page, click the Direct Orders Discounts option. | |
4 | On the far-right side of the screen, click the Ellipse button for the coupon you'd like to deactivate. | The Ellipse button is marked by three dots arranged vertically. |
5 | A dropdown menu will appear. In it, click the Deactivate discount option. | The Deactivate discount option is colored red and marked with a trash can icon. |
6 | A popup message will appear asking you to confirm whether or not you'd like to deactivate this coupon. Select Delete discount, and your coupon will be deactivated. | Note: This does not delete the coupon entirely – it only deactivates it. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can deactivated coupons be reactivated?
A: Yes! Repeat the process above on a deactivated coupon, and it will be reactivated.
Q: Do coupons automatically deactivate?
A: Only if you've specified for them to do so using the coupon's "Duration" settings.
Q: Can deactivated coupons still be edited?
A: Yes! Just click a deactivated coupon in the Direct Orders Discounts section of the Marketing page, and you'll be able to edit it as usual.
