Summary
Menu Upsells is new feature in Otter’s Direct to Consumer product that empowers restaurant owners and operators to curate a list of recommended upsells to display to customers during their checkout. This feature will work for Direct Orders websites and Kiosks.

Changes to Menus App in Otter Dashboard
- A new modifier group setting, “Upsell group”, was added.
- This group can be used to attach a list of upsells to specific items.
Changes to Kiosk checkout
- Items with attached upsell modifier groups will display potential upsell items to the customer in the cart during the checkout process.
Changes to Direct Orders web checkout
- Items with attached upsell modifier groups will display potential upsell items to the customer in the cart during the checkout process.
How to enable Menu Upsells

- No, this feature is included for all Direct Orders customers.

How many upsells can be set for an item?
- Currently, there is no limit to the number of upsell items that can be added to a group. However, we will only display the first 8 items within the upsell view in the cart.

Can upsells have modifiers of their own?
- At this time, upsell items do not support modifiers or nested modifiers.

One of my upsells is not showing, why is that?
- Please check that your upsell item has been added to a category of its own. Only items with categories will be displayed from your menu.

I only want upsells to be displayed on some Online food providers but not others, is this possible?
- Yes this is possible! You can toggle on and off the upsell group for specific providers in the “Offered On” section when editing a modifier group.

Help, some of my upsells are not showing. What do I do?
- Currently, we do not show upsells with required modifiers. Please confirm on your menu that your upsell items do not have any required modifiers. If they do, please remove them and republish your menu to display them.
