Resolve POS Menu Conflicts

Otter Self-Serve Menu Management now allows you to easily compare and fix differences between your POS (Point of Sale) menu and the Otter menu.

This new feature, called "Resolve POS Menu Conflict", is designed to save you time in maintaining your Otter menu and making sure it matches with the one in your POS.

How does it work?

Identification of Conflict Items:

The "Resolve Conflict" button appears if a structure discrepancy is found between the POS and Otter menus for a particular item.


Details of Conflicts:

1. You can see a side-by-side view of your POS menu and Otter menu.

Show Conflict Toggle:

1. You can toggle between showing how the menu would look after an update or how it currently looks in Otter.

Conflict Resolution:

1. You can resolve conflicts with a single click on the Update Otter item button which applies changes to the selected item with conflict.

a. If an item is missing in the POS but present in Otter, it will be removed from Otter.

b. If an item is in the POS but missing in Otter, it will be added to Otter.image-20231226-221600.png

REMINDER TO PUBLISH:  Once conflicts are resolved, the menu needs to be published to the delivery platforms.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How often are Conflicts detected?
    • Otter checks the POS menu every 6 hours. If structure discrepancies are identified then the Conflict is flagged in the POS Menu Manage view.
  • Why I do not see “Resolve Conflict” on all items?
    • The Resolve Conflict feature is available only on LINKED items. If an Otter item is not linked to a POS item the potential conflict won’t be detected.
  • Can I bulk resolve all conflicts?
    • Today is not possible to bulk resolve conflict. You need to go item by item to resolve the conflict.
