Unboxing your Otter POS Gen 2 Terminal

When you receive your Otter POS Gen 2 Terminal, the first thing you'll need to do is unbox all the components. Make sure to check that you have everything you need before proceeding. Your shipment includes the following:

  • Otter POS (Gen 2) Terminal device
  • Power Cable
  • Power Brick
  • Mounting bracket
  • Packet of Screws

Once you have all the components laid out in front of you, you're ready to start assembling your POS Terminal.

Assembling the components

To proceed, assemble the components of your Otter POS (Gen 2) Terminal by following the straightforward steps provided below for both the Single Screen and Dual Screen versions:

Please empty the packet containing 3 screws and a wrench.

To secure the baseplate to the terminal arm, use the 3 screws and wrench provided. Ensure the feet of the baseplate are positioned outward.

 

Note: It is advised to perform this task with the terminal in a horizontal position.

Please unpack the two boxes that contain your customer-facing display. Inside, you should find a:

  • Display unit
  • HDMI cable
  • Bracket
  • Two bags of screws.

Please keep the bag of hardware that came with the display aside for the time being

Inside the bag provided with the bracket, you will locate 2 long screws and 2 short screws. It is crucial to utilize the 2 short screws for attaching the bracket to the display.

After you have fastened it, the screen should resemble the illustration on the right side.

Please adjust the primary screen to a higher angle to facilitate access to the stand, and find the horizontal opening located at the top of the stand.

To attach the stand to the bracket, insert the 2 longer screws provided in the hardware bag through the horizontal section of the stand into the two remaining holes on the bracket. Then, securely tighten both screws to ensure stability.

To proceed, please ensure you have the hardware bag that accompanies the customer-facing display. Inside, you will locate a screwdriver and 2 small black screws. These items are necessary to securely fasten the HDMI cable to the primary display.

Please observe two openings located on each side of the angled segment of the cable.

The openings align with up to two holes adjacent to the HDMI port on the main screen.

Connect the HDMI cable to the primary display by inserting the angled side into the designated port. Once connected, fasten the cable to the display using the screws and screwdriver that were identified in the initial step of this process.

Insert the flat side of the HDMI cable through the vertical opening of the primary stand.

Ensure it clicks and securely locks into place.

Powering up your Terminal

1. Connect the power cable to the power brick, and then plug the DC male socket from the power brick into the receptacle on the bottom of the terminal's screen. unnamed (16).png

To power on the terminal, simply press and hold the power button located on the back-right side of the primary display. The boot screen will appear on the primary display as the terminal is starting up.

Task completed successfully. The terminal is now ready to be powered on.
