Recent Orders in Otter POS

Otter POS's [Recent Orders] feature allows you to access the 10 most recent orders within the past 6 months in one click for your customers.

This enables easy addition of popular items to the cart without manual search. Streamlining this process leads to faster customer service and a better overall experience for staff and customers.

Adding Recent Orders to a Check

Learn how to add a recent order to a check using the walkthroughs below. The recent orders process is slightly different based on the Otter POS interface version. Be sure to follow the correct Otter POS version that is connected to your terminal.

How to add Recent Orders to a check on Otter POS v2

 

Step Process Image
1 Add the customer to the check by either:
  • Searching for the eater profile using the customer icon
  • Searching for the Loyalty profile under the check options

2 Type the customer's name in the search bar and select the correct profile.

First, be sure to select [Add to check] to attach the customer to the new order.

All of the customer's most recent orders will appear in the profile.

You can select the plus sign [+] icon or [Add all items] to add the most recent order to the check.

To review other recent orders, select [View more orders].

On the "View more orders" screen, you will be able to see the 10 most recent orders within the past 6 months. 

Select the order you would like to add to the check.

To add the order to the check, you can select:

  • [Add all items] button
  • [+] plus sign icon

The modifiers will already be pre-filled on the item to match the recent order. Modifiers can be seen below the menu item name.

To go back to the order entry screen, tap anywhere on the outside of the pop-up.

To access the customer's previous orders and activate the “recent order” and “pre-fill modifier" feature, add the eater profile or loyalty account to the current order.

Once an existing customer has been added to the ticket, a “Recent order” entry card will appear on the menu.

The [Recent orders] card is highlighted in orange and shows as the last category on the menu.

3 After clicking on [Recent Orders], you’ll instantly access the 10 most recent orders from the past 6 months, all conveniently displayed on your screen.

4 By clicking any of the order cards, all of the items and item modifiers of that order will be added to the cart.

The recent order cards act as a quick combo option with no “unselect” feature. 

You can tap a single card or different cards multiple times, and each tap adds the order’s items and modifiers to the cart. 

To remove items, you will need to slide the item to the left on the check to display the [Remove] option.

Using the Pre-fill Item Modifiers

To access the customer's previous orders and activate the “pre-fill modifier" feature, add the eater profile or loyalty account to the current order.

When you add an item to the cart that has modifiers and was ordered within the last 30 orders, the modifiers from the previous order will be pre-filled automatically. 

A summary banner will show these selected modifiers at the top.

3 Once you make any modifier updates, the “(from last order)” indicator will disappear.
