Overview
Eaters rely on menu details to make informed choices about what they can and cannot eat. If a menu item contains an allergen that an eater is allergic to, it can put their health at risk.
Within the Menus App on the Otter Dashboard, restaurants can add allergen and nutrition information to every item on their menu— allowing them to stay in compliance with possible regulations and keep their customers safe.

Allergen VS Dietary Restrictions
Although allergens and dietary restrictions are different, some delivery platforms may group these together. Otter will allow you to select both allergens and dietary restrictions for a menu item. When your menu is published, Otter will take those selections made in Otter Menus and mirror the allergen and dietary selections available on that platform that best match.
Example:
In the Otter Dashboard, you add the following Dietary facts to a veggie burger menu item:
Allergens
Dairy-free
Contains soybean
Dietary Restrictions
Vegan
Plant Based
DoorDash only has Dairy-free and Vegan available for dietary facts for menu items. So, when your Otter menu is published on DoorDash, the veggie burger will be labeled as Dairy-free and Vegan. Contains soybean and Plant Based labels would not show on the DoorDash menu.
Editing Allergen and Calorie Information
To delete or edit dietary facts for a menu item, navigate to the Edit Item page for a menu item (step 1-3 above). From there, you can deselect allergens, uncheck dietary restrictions, and edit calorie information.
