Import an Existing Menu

Overview

Otter customers can use the menu import option to create or add a menu within Otter Dashboard. 

You can choose to import an existing menu from a:

  • Delivery Platform
  • Direct Orders Website
  • Third-party POS

Delivery Platform Menu Import

Follow the steps below to import an existing menu from a delivery platform.

Delivery Platform Menu Import Steps:

1 From the Otter Dashboard, select Apps > Menus.

2 Click [+ Add menu].

Select the Brand this menu will belong to.

NOTE: The menu will only be available to locations under that brand.

Name the menu and click [Continue].

Select the Online service menu as the import option.

Choose which delivery service platform you’d like to import from.

Click [Continue].

Select Location to import the menu from.

Click [Continue].

Choose which locations to assign this imported menu to.

NOTE: If a location listed is flagged as Conflict, it means that location currently has a different menu assigned to it. 

If you choose a location flagged as Conflict, the current menu will be unassigned and the new imported menu will be assigned.

Click [Create Menu].

If importing a menu from Uber Eats, you can also import a menu using your Uber Eats storefront URL.

Direct Order Website Import

Follow the steps below to import an existing menu from a direct order website.

1 From the Otter Dashboard, select Apps > Menus.

Select the Brand this menu will belong to.

NOTE: The menu will only be available to locations under that brand.

Name the menu and click [Continue].

Select the Online service menu as the import option.

Choose Direct Orders to import from an existing website.

Click [Continue].

Select Location to import the menu from.

Choose which locations to assign this imported menu to.

Uber Eats URL Menu Import

Follow the steps below to import an existing menu using an Uber Eats storefront URL.

When using this method to import an existing menu, the menu hours will not be imported. You will need to set menu hours within the Otter Dashboard once the menu is imported.

1 From the Otter Dashboard, select Apps > Menus.

2 Click [+ Add menu].

Select the Brand this menu will belong to.

NOTE: The menu will only be available to locations under that brand.

Name the menu and click [Continue].

Select the Online Create from URL as the import option.

Click [Continue].

5 Paste the Uber Eats storefront URL (this is the URL that eaters see to order from).

Choose which locations to assign this imported menu to.

NOTE: If a location listed is flagged as Conflict, it means that location currently has a different menu assigned to it. 

If you choose a location flagged as Conflict, the current menu will be unassigned and the new imported menu will be assigned.

Click [Create Menu].

FAQS

  • Yes— You can make edits to your menu as needed. Learn more about what edits you can make to your menu(s) and how, here.
  • Yes— You can create a menu without assigning it to a location. Whenever you’re ready, you can go back in and assign the menu to the location(s) you’d like it to be served.
