Overview
The Hourly Tip Report provides you with a comprehensive overview of tips earned throughout the day across both Otter POS/Otter Kiosk and Third-party Delivery Platforms. Use this report to help you manage payroll, optimize staffing during peak tipping times, and ensure transparency in earnings.
This report allows for tracking tip distribution by hour, staff member, and device, offering enhanced insights into peak tipping periods and overall staff earnings.
Key Features
Filter tip report by:
- Date and time
- Brands
- Locations
- Staff member
- Channel
Third-party Delivery Platform Tipping
Tips from delivery platforms will be shown as 3rd Party Delivery Platform as Otter doesn't have staff member or device data from these platforms.
Provides breakdown of:
- Tips by hour
- Tips by staff member (using pin code login on Otter POS)
- Tips by device
Staff Member ID
Tip by Staff Member is dependent on the pin user who created the order.
Accessing the Tip Report
Follow the steps below to view the Tip Report within the Otter Dashboard.

Step 1
From the Otter Dashboard, select Apps > Financials.

Click on the Hourly Tips tab. -
Step 3
Use filters for date, brand, location, staff member, and channel for desired view of tip reporting.
Time Zone for Report
This report is shown in Normalized Time— this means the timestamp will reflect the time a transaction was made at that location.
FAQs
- Tip after initial payment will be added to the report 24 hours after the order is captured.
- No— This report is shown in Normalized Time and cannot be changed. This means the timestamp will reflect the time a transaction was made at that location.
