Order Notification Settings

Overview

Order Notification Visibility is a setting on your Otter device that allows you to choose how order notifications appear on your device(s). Order Notification Visibility settings can be configured by specific channels in the Orders App.

  • Enable order notification settings on any Otter device
  • Configure settings per order channel
  • Reduce unnecessary notifications

 


 

Default Notification Settings

Order Notification Visibility settings can be configured by channel on Otter devices. When you receive your Otter device, the default settings will be configured as detailed below.

Accessing Order Notification Settings

Follow the steps below to locate Order Notification Visibility settings on an Otter device by entering the Notification Settings.

Open the Otter [Home] page.

Click on the [Profile] icon at the top right of the page.

2Select [Settings].
3Click on the [Notification] tab from the left options.
4To enable notifications for a specific order channel, check the box next to the channel name.
5To disable a notification, un-check the option.

 


 

Enable Manual Accept Notifications

When the manual accept setting is turned ON, a popup window will appear at the bottom left of the device each time a new order is placed on a 3rd party delivery app, kiosk, or from a Direct Orders website.

Follow the steps below to locate the setting to enable manual accept notifications.

Open the Otter app [Home] page.

Click on the [Profile] icon at the top right of the page.

3Click on the Orders tab from the left options.
4Under the Couriers & Logistics section of the Orders tab, check the Manual option box.

You can use manual accept to closely monitor incoming orders, but this is not recommended for high-volume restaurants, as orders can be missed and potentially impact delivery app metrics.

  • No — the setting will only apply to the device it is set on.
  • No— the Order Notification setting is only available for Otter POS and Direct Orders customers.
