Pre-Install Checklist

An Onboarding Associate will work with you to set the best time for your install. Review the tips below prior to your installation date to prepare for a successful installation:

  • Be on-site to provide direction to tech on hardware placement, WiFi network information
NoteEnsure power source is accessible where hardware is going to be placed
  • If use of ethernet cable was requested prior to tech installation, be prepared to provide direction to the technician on routing the cable
NoteDouble check that wall jack/router is available with active network connectivity
  • For KDS, Otter does not supply or install mounts. Please have the mount set up in the desired location prior to tech installation
disclaimer-notification.svgKeep in mind, if the mount isn't installed we're unable to install the KDS to the mount. However, the technician can still power on and connect to WiFi/ethernet so that Otter can configure the KDS
  • For POS and Kiosk, you will be asked to perform a card test order to confirm that you are ready to start receiving orders. You will also receive training with Otter after the installation is complete.
  • If transitioning from another POS/KDS provider, please make sure the designated area for Otter hardware is clean, clear, and easily accessible for the technician
  • Any Otter software or account related inquiry should be directed to your Otter representative instead of on-site technician
