Pricing & Billing
Boost billing is based on a “per day” usage rate. This means that instead of paying a fixed price at the beginning of each month per location, that rate is converted into a daily rate, and you are only charged for the days when Boost is active.
-
Example Breakdown: If your subscription is $60 USD a month per location, then your daily rate is calculated as follows:
$60 / 30 days = $2/day -
Example Scenario: Boost was active for 25 days in November (30 days)
$60 / 30 days = $2/day
$2 x 25 = $50 Boost Billing

How to personalize marketing promotion campaigns
Choose between:
-
Promotion Types: This allows you to choose a strategy that meets your business goals. These are retained from the previous versions of Boost.
- Automated: Strategies are selected by Boost. Growth Mode (optimizing for sales) or Balanced Mode (optimizing for take-home pay)
- Custom: Personalize your settings such as Target Audience (New/All) and Promotion Type (per Order/Item)
- Discount Level: How aggressive should your discounts be.
- Weekly Budget: You set the budget for your Campaigns - the value of all your promotions are counting towards the budget from the start date, and if they exceed the budget, they are paused. If your budget is exceeded, but you’d still like to run the promotion, you can always increase it.
- Duration: The selected time window for which the campaign will remain active. Once a campaign passes its end date, it will be inactive. You can also choose an ongoing campaign that will run until you pause it or set an ending date.
Confirming Active Campaigns
In case you ever need to review the status of a campaign, you can locate the status within the campaign details in the [Marketing] app. The campaign status will appear next to the title/name of the campaign. Expand the section below to learn more!

FAQs
What’s the difference between Automated and Custom?
Choose Automated if you'd like Otter to decide the best strategy for you. Choose Custom If you'd like to customize your promotions, like offering free delivery or promoting specific menu items.
What’s the difference between Growth and Balanced goals?
Choose growth if your goal is to maximize sales. On the other hand, if you want to increase profits from a store while maintaining visibility in the apps, choose the balanced goal.
When does my promotion go live?
If your promotion dates are current, then the promotion will go live automatically once you save it for the storefronts you've chosen. If the promotion date is scheduled for later, the promotion will go live automatically on that date.
Can I pause my promotions?
Yes, you can pause your promotion at any time by selecting the ellipsis button on the right of your screen and selecting pause.
Will my promotion be paused right away?
The promotion will pause as soon as the promotion status says “Paused.”
Can I pause the promotion for a specific delivery channel and keep the rest of the promotion active?
You can pause a promotion for a specific delivery channel by selecting the pause toggle button for each delivery channel.
What do the promotion statuses active, paused, and inactive mean?
Promotions can have one of the following labels:
- ACTIVE: The promotion is live, and promotions are being scheduled for storefronts. Eaters will see active promotions on the OFO page.
- PAUSED: The promotion is paused either due to a user action or the promotion has reached its allotted budget. This promotion would be active otherwise.
- INACTIVE: The promotion has not yet started or will be started in the future.
What kind of promotions are the best? What promotions will help my business grow?
This can be hard to answer as it will vary, depending on the specifics of the restaurant.
We recommend using an automated promotion type as we automatically select, schedule, and optimize promotions to help you meet your business goals. Growth will create a promotion strategy aimed at maximizing revenue and run more aggressive promotions to increase sales. Balanced will create a promotion strategy aimed at maximizing take-home pay, creating a promotion strategy to increase profit.
