How to Configure Printer Settings in the Otter App

Summary

The app continues to evolve and create more features that allow for more flexibility than before. This section covers printer settings now available within the app that also allow advanced setups.

Printer list

Within the Settings page, the Printer List is located under the Hardware tab. This list shows all printers connected to your current device's location. Each printer entry includes the printer name with the type of tickets it prints and its status.

Online Printer Statuses

Printer Details

Clicking on a printer in the list opens up its details page. Let's explore each detail.

Printer Name

You can edit the printer name by clicking the pencil button.

Action Bar

Remove the printer from your device or print a test ticket.

Station Ticket

Station ticket shows which stations the printer is connected to. The printer will only print tickets for items from those stations.

In the above example, the printer is connected to the “Burger” station. In this case:

  • If an order doesn’t contain any “Burger” station items, then this printer will not print any station ticket.
  • If an order contains any items from the "Burger" station, this printer will only print those "Burger" station items. It won't print items from other stations in the order.

Receipt Setup

Choose whether to print receipts.

InfoFor Otter POS customers: If the printer becomes disconnected, consider enabling Digital Receipts. This feature allows receipts to be sent to customers via email or SMS. Navigate to Otter Dashboard > Point of Sale > Settings.

Hidden Receipt Settings

If a device can’t print local receipts, the receipt settings will be hidden. The image below show an example of no setting configurations.

Customer Tickets by Fulfillment Mode


 

The Customer Ticket by Fulfillment Mode feature allows merchants to set specific printer routing rules for customer tickets.

For example, if a merchant wants only Pick-up receipts to print at a specific printer station, they can select [Pick up] under the “Order Type” setting and only the Pick-up customer tickets will print.

How to set Printer Fulfillment mode for customer tickets

Check the box next to each fulfillment mode you want to configure for this printer.

⚠️At least one order type must be selected.

Select [Save] after the desired fulfillment modes are checked.

The printer’s customer tickets are now configured to print the specified fulfillment modes.
