Kiosk Troubleshooting

If you’re seeing an error message on your kiosk, there are a few reasons that could cause this error display.

  • Card reader is not turned on or charged
  • Card reader is not connected to the kiosk
  • Card reader is disconnected from Wi-Fi
  • Card reader exits "Reader mode"
  • Card reader is not paired to kiosk

Check out the different troubleshooting scenarios below to resolve the common issues that cause that kiosk unavailable error.

Troubleshooting

  • Step Process Image
1 Double-check card reader is ON (indicated by green light on top front of the reader).
    2

If the card reader isn’t turning on, restart the card reader.

Use a pushpin to press  the reset button on the right-side of the cradle.

    3

If the card reader seems to not hold a charge, open the kiosk to access the connection box.

Pull out the card reader plug from the power strip.

    4

Plug it into a power outlet for a quick charge.

After charging a bit, turn ON the card reader (indicated by the green light).

NoteTurning Card Reader Off During Non-Operating Hours
To ensure your card reader is holding a charge, you can turn it off during non-operating hours. This will save battery life and help ensure the card reader is good to go for the opening shift.
