Overview
Once you have created a menu or multiple menus within the Otter Dashboard, you can re-order menus, categories, and/or menu items. This will change the order the menu entities are displayed to eaters while ordering or viewing your menu.
Menu Reorder Delivery Platform Support
Not all delivery platforms support menu re-order. So, if the menu order is changed— on some delivery platforms, it still may display in the original order when it was created.
Reordering Menu Structure
Follow the steps below to reorganize:
- Menus
- Categories
- Menu Items

Step 1
From the Otter Dashboard, select Apps > Menus.

Step 2
Select a menu to edit.Click corresponding button to:
- [Reorder menus]
- [Reorder categories]
- [Reorder items]

Step 3
Drag & move listed entities to reorder how they will display on the menu.Click [Save].

Step 4
Click [Publish] to publish menu updates.Select all locations and delivery channels you'd like to apply changes, then click [Publish menu].

Yes— Just click [Preview menu] to preview your menu before publishing.
- Menu reorder is not supported on all delivery platforms. If your menu order shows differently than what is shown in the Otter Dashboard, it’s likely that feature isn’t supported on that platform and will reflect the original menu order.
You can always reach out to the delivery platform directly to see if a feature is available for your integration with Otter.
