Payouts Overview

Overview

Payouts in the Analytics App provides a unified view of a business’ financial data across different channels and simplifies tracking and managing payouts. From the Otter Dashboard, select Apps > Analytics > Financials > Direct Payouts or Partner Payouts to view.

Payouts Overview Page

On the Payouts Overview page, you can see a high-level overview of payout transactions. At the top of the page, you will see the Payout, Transactions, and Otter Balance collective data for the date range selected. Below, you will see a table showing data for individual payout events. 

You can filter by: Date range Stores Channels Payouts by date

Payout Overview Tabs

There are two separate views to view your payouts depending on where the source of the payout is coming from. In the Payouts Overview page, you can see payouts reporting broken up into how much Otter is paying you out versus your delivery partners, like DoorDash. The two available Financials tabs are:

• Direct Payouts
  
  Includes Direct Orders payouts such as Otter POS, Online Orders Website, or Kiosk. These payouts are from the money sent by Otter to your account for your Direct Orders.
   
  
• Partner Payouts
  
  Includes Delivery App payouts such as DoorDash, GrubHub, and UberEats. Takes up to 7-10 days for data to import into this report.
  
  

Step	Process	Image
1	Go to the Otter Dashboard. Click on the top left Apps dropdown. Select the Analytics app.
2	If you are logging into the Otter Dashboard for the first time, there will be a popup window that explains that your Payouts are broken up into: Direct Payouts The money Otter pays you. Partner Payouts The money your Delivery apps pay you. Click Skip Tour to view Payouts.
3	Click the Direct Payouts tab.
4	The default view for the Direct Payouts page will open to the Completed view. In the Completed view, you can see all of the money that Otter has successfully paid out to your bank account. You can investigate specific payouts by clicking on the Payout ID.
5	Click into the Pending view to see what payouts are anticipated for the next payout cycle.
6	The Pending Payouts page has many tool tips to help you understand what each data point is telling you. You can access the Otter Payout Schedule on this page.

3	Click the Partner Payouts tab.
4	To investigate a partner payout, click on the Payout ID to open the Payout Details page.

Column Name	Description	Image
Payout ID	Payout ID imported from the ordering channel
Channel	Ordering channel associated with payout EX: DoorDash, Otter POS, UberEats
Store	Store and brand corresponding to the payout
Payout Date	Date corresponding with when the ordering channel paid the restaurant
Payout Period	Date range corresponding to the transactions included in the payout
Transactions	Quantity of transactions included in the payout
Amount	Dollar value of all transactions included in the payout

Payout Details Page

To view more information on a payout, click on the payout listed. This will take you to the Payout Details page. There, you can view more details, like:

Payout Details: Payout method Transactions included in payout Order details Payout calculation Payout status

 

Transactions Table Column Descriptions:

Column Name	Description	Image
Order ID	Simplified order ID
Transaction type	Types of transactions include order payment, adjustment, cancelation, misc, and payout delta.
Date	Date transaction occurred
Order total	Value of the subtotal of the order, excluding tax, commissions, adjustments, etc.
Tax	Value of sales tax of the order
Processing fee	Fees charged for processing the order
Payout fees	Fees charged for processing the payout
Payout total	Value of the payout paid to the restaurant

Viewing Fees for Future Foods

When looking at the Payout Details page for Future Foods, there are a few things to note: 

• The amount listed under the Delivery commission column makes up your Future Foods fees. 
• The amount listed for Error charges and Adjustments make up the Adjustments passed through to Future Foods by delivery platforms.

Viewing Specific Transaction & Order Information

By clicking on the Order ID for a transaction listed, you can view even more information about that specific order payout. 

Transaction Details

In the Transaction details tab, you can view the following information for that payout order:

• Order payment information
• Payment timeline
• Payout information
• Payout status
• Payout calculation breakdown

Order Info

In the Order info tab, you can view the following information for that payout order:

• Items ordered
• Item subtotal
• Partner charges
• Brand & location
• Channel ordered through

FAQs

• Yes— Just click the [Export] button at the top of the page. Then you can select the export type.

  

• The data will show in EST— currently, there is not an option to change this view.
