Overview
Otter Loyalty is an in-product reward system that is exclusive to Otter POS customers. This feature allows you to register customer profiles, apply those profiles to an order, and allow eaters to earn rewards on their qualified purchases.
With Otter Loyalty you can:
- Create a custom loyalty program: Make a loyalty program branded for your business and set earning parameters.
- Register customer profiles: Sign eaters up for your loyalty program that creates a customer profile for your brand.
- Offer loyalty rewards: Whenever a customer pays for an order, they can earn eligible points to accumulate or redemption.
- Allow point redemption: Redeem rewards for a discount towards future orders.
- Manually adjust rewards: If you need to manually add or subtract rewards from a customer’s loyalty balance, you can do so from the Otter Dashboard.
- Share your Loyalty program: Automatically print QR codes on your receipts for eaters to sign up for and/or claim loyalty points.
- Gain customer insights: Get reporting and analytics on program performance and customer behavior.
- Sign Up & Earn Loyalty on Otter Kiosks: Customers can easily sign up and redeem Loyalty points directly in the Otter Kiosk checkout flow.
Creating a Loyalty Program
Otter Loyalty customers can configure and manage their Loyalty program within the Otter Dashboard. The Loyalty App is the go-to place for:
- Customizing Loyalty program settings
- Offer rewards based on order total amount vs per purchase
- Create reward redemption options
- Branding a Loyalty program

Sharing your Loyalty Program
Eaters can sign up and view their earned points for a specific brand through the Loyalty program portal. Your customers can access the portal through:
- A direct link shared by the merchant
- Scanning a printed QR code
- Scanning QR code on order receipt
- Accessing their profile on your direct order website
Accessing your Loyalty Portal Link
Downloading QR Code
You can download a QR code to display for your diners to scan and sign into when viewing earned points. The QR code can be downloaded from the Loyalty App > click on the 3 dots > Download QR code. Once downloaded, you can print your QR code for customers to scan in your store.
Copying Direct Link
You can also share the Loyalty portal link by selecting Copy Link to share on your website, or socials— encouraging eaters to sign up for or access your Loyalty program.
Adding QR Codes to Receipts
Otter Loyalty QR Codes can be printed on receipts for Otter POS, Kiosk, and Direct Orders for your customers to easily scan to:
- Sign up and earn loyalty points after their initial order
- Retroactively claim points on an order
- Access the Loyalty portal to view their current point balance
Step Process Image 1 From the Otter Dashboard, select Apps > Loyalty. 2 Select your desired loyalty program 3 Under Ways to Collect, enable Collection of Post-Order Rewards 4 Enter # of days to allow eaters to claim rewards after purchase.
Click [Update] > [Publish] to save changes.
5 Select Apps > POS 6 Click the [Brand Settings] button on the Brand you want to access settings for. 7 Go to the Terminals tab
Select the Receipts tab
8 Toggle ON the Print Loyalty Points Collection QR Code setting 9 Click [Save].
At this time, the sizing of the QR code printed on the eater receipt cannot be resized or adjusted.

Loyalty QR Codes for Delivery Partners
Loyalty QR Codes can be added to the bottom of customer tickets (dispatch tickets) for delivery partner orders to:
- Offer Loyalty earning and sign up to eaters not order through delivery platforms (like Uber Eats or DoorDash)
- Adds incentive for the eater to order directly in the future to redeem earned Loyalty points
This feature is only available for amount and purchased based Loyalty programs.
To enable and set up Loyalty QR codes to be printed on receipts for delivery platform orders, reach out to the Otter team for help.
Loyalty Display on Otter POS
Loyalty sign-up and redemption can be completed directly on the customer-facing POS screen. This self-service option streamlines the checkout process by enabling eaters to input their details directly on the POS— enhancing both efficiency and convenience.

Loyalty Display on Otter Kiosk
Loyalty on Kiosk allows guests to log in, sign up for a brand’s loyalty program, or redeem points directly from the in-store 21” or 27” Otter Kiosk. This feature helps brands increase your loyalty engagement, streamlines checkout, and captures more repeat customers at the point of sale. This feature also improves your customer retention, increases repeat purchases, and provides merchants with better loyalty data capture at the point of sale.
Steps to Sign Up & Redeem Loyalty on Otter Kiosk

FAQs
Does Customer Profile Search include all registered customers who have created a profile at all stores within the Otter Organization?
Customer profiles and points are stored at the Brand Level.
If you use multiple brand menus (have more than one brand), you will have access to a different pool of Loyalty customers depending on the menu selected when an order is transacted.
How do I update a customer profile?
Customer information can be updated from within the Customer Profile Search box by selecting the [Edit] button.
Can reward points be used to pay for taxes or service fees on a transaction?
No— Redeemed rewards cannot be used to cover taxes or service fees for a transaction.
Can I manually adjust points for a customer's Loyalty balance?
Yes— points can be manually added or subtracted from a customer profile within the Otter Dashboard. Learn more about how to adjust Loyalty points here.
Can Diners redeem the same QR code multiple times?
No— the QR code can only be redeemed once per order.
