Tablet Overview and Setup

Summary

The Otter experience is enhanced with the Otter app! The app is pre-installed in tablets issued by Otter or can be downloaded onto your own device that supports the Otter app.

Please Note

  • Bluetooth printers can only connect to Otter via the Otter app, and not via the web browser access
  • If you want to use the web version of Order Manager then an Otter-issued printer (Ethernet or TP-Link connection) is required to print.

Initial Otter Tablet Set Up

Step Process Detail

Turn the tablet ON

 
2 Connect to your store’s main Wi-Fi network  
3 Tap the Otter app on the home screen  
4 Your tablet should include an info sheet with your username and password

Sign in to your tablet with the included credentials

  • You can manage your printers and your orders from the app with the Otter Tablet

  • Self-supplied tablets must manage their orders in a browser through Order Manager

 

Keep the following in mind to get the best performance out of your tablet:

  • Keep your tablet plugged in and connected at all times–especially overnight for updates
  • Make sure all Bluetooth/local printers are within 15 ft of your tablet at all times.
  • We recommend using wired internet connections for printers and tablets if at all possible.

Download the Otter app

Tap the app to open, and sign in to your Otter account

In a browser on your device, sign in to Order Manager (https://app.tryotter.com/login)

NOTE: Any tablet or laptop can manage orders through Order Manager

 

At any time, you can request a tablet from us that will come with the Otter. You can also download the app via the Google Play Store or access your Otter account via app.tryotter.com in a web browser. 

Keep the Otter App Up-to-Date

Your Otter tablet and Otter app should update to the most recent software after being connected to the internet.
