Menu Item Pricing

Overview

Once you have created a menu item in Otter, that item's pricing can be edited from the Otter Dashboard.

Menu item prices can also be updated to reflect different prices per channel and/or fulfillment mode.

Editing a Menu Item Price

Follow the steps below to edit the price for an existing menu item from the Otter Dashboard.

Step 1:

From the Otter Dashboard, select Apps > Menus.

Click on the menu you'd like to edit the item on.
Step 2:

Click on the item you'd like to edit the price for.
Step 3:

Scroll to the Pricing section of the item details page. Type the new price for the item default price box to be published to all channels (this price will be used if advanced pricing isn’t set).
Step 4:

Click [Save].
Step 5:

Click [Publish] to publish menu updates.

Select all locations and delivery channels you'd like to apply changes, then click [Publish menu].

Adding a Price for New Items

When adding a new item to your menu from the Otter Dashboard, once you click [+ Add item]— you'll be able to set pricing for the item from the Pricing section (the same as Step 3- 5 shown above).

Advanced Price Settings

With Advanced Pricing Settings, you can set the price for an item per:

Fulfillment options
Delivery partners
Otter channel
Fulfillment per channel

To set advanced pricing for an item, click Advanced pricing from an item details page.

Fulfillment Advanced Pricing:

To set the item price per fulfillment option, toggle Pricing per fulfillment ON.

Type in the desired prices for dine-in and pick-up, then click [Done].

Otter and Delivery Channel Advanced Pricing:

To set the item price per channel, select Price per channel from the Price override options drop-down.

Type in the desired prices for channels, then click [Done].

To set the item price per fulfillment per channel, toggle Pricing per fulfillment ON and select Price per channel from the Price override options drop-down.

Type in the desired prices for channels and fulfillment, then click [Done].

Publishing Item Price Updates:

Once you've edited your menu item pricing, be sure to save and publish your menu for changes to reflect on your different ordering channels (Steps 4 and 5 above).

Bulk Updating Menu Prices

If there are numerous items needing the same price adjustment, you can streamline the process by bulk updating to simultaneously update multiple items. You can bulk update the price of items by:

A set price
Adjusting by dollar or percent amount
Selecting updates made everywhere or by channel

Follow the steps below to bulk update item pricing:

Step 1:

Once you’ve selected a menu, select the items to update by checking the box next to the items.
Step 2:

Click [$ Update prices] from the bottom of the screen.
Step 3:

Choose whether to update the price everywhere or by channel.
Step 4:

Select to update item prices by changing to set dollar price, changing the price by a dollar amount, or changing the price by a percentage.
Step 5:

Click [Change prices] > [Publish] to publish updated pricing.

Rounding Up Pricing Changes:

When bulk updating item prices, you'll have the option to round up pricing if updating by a percent.

FAQs

Can I update an entire Category price?

Yes— to update pricing for an entire category, select the category you'd like to edit. Then check all items and click [Update prices].

Can I bulk decrease item prices?

Yes— when bulk updating, just add a negative in front of the price or percent you'd like to decrease the price by.

Can I make changes to the pricing of my entire menu at once?

Yes— Click the Items tab on a menu, then check all items. From there, you can follow the flow to bulk update the pricing for all items on the menu simultaneously.
