Overview
Grubhub x Otter integration takes all orders made through the Grubhub delivery-app and sends them to a single Otter device for more efficient operation. You’re able to:
- Easily manage orders from different platforms
- See a single view of your order queue from all platforms
- Connect to delivery drivers
- Manage and publish your menu(s) for multiple channels in one place
Please Note that this will require your Admin Login Information in order to fully connect your Grubhub Account.
Connecting Grubhub to Otter
Follow the steps below to connect your Grubhub account to your Otter account.
Step Process Image 1 From the Otter Dashboard, select Profile > Settings. 2 Select Integrations > Explore from the side menu.
Use the search bar to find “Grubhub”.
3 Click [Connect]. 4 Enter Grubhub email and password.
Click [Continue].
5 Confirm brands to connect with Grubhub.
Click [Continue].
6 Confirm locations to connect with Grubhub.
Click [Add x Locations].
7 Wait for setup check to load. 8 Select locations to Activate.
All selected locations will use Otter for order management— this will take over for any current order aggregator.
9 Click [Activate # locations].
If all locations are successfully connected & activated, a confirmation will show.
Click [Done].
Failed to Activate
If you are unable to activate a location (due to errors), you will need to resolve issues & activate the Grubhub connection from the Integrations page in the Otter Dashboard.

10 Once connected, be sure to publish your menu to the delivery platform.
Note: When publishing your menu, make sure to check Grubhub for desired locations to ensure your menu is published for that platform.
When you activate your integration, Otter Dashboard will become the source of truth for menu and hours management. Edits and publishing will no longer be available through the Grubhub merchant portal— so it's important to keep the menu and hours updated within the Otter Dashboard.
All selected locations will use Otter for order management— this will take over for any current order aggregator.
Troubleshooting

If there are any issues activating Grubhub for a location, an error message will appear for that location. The error message should give details on what the specific issue is and how to resolve it.

2 Follow the prompt(s) to resolve the issue(s).
Example:
In the image shown, the error reads, “Modifier group ‘Drinks’ has no items.”
To resolve this, you'd need to go into the menu & assign items to Drinks modifier group or remove the Drinks modifier group.3 If not already on the Integrations page:
Once all errors are resolved for a location, go to Settings.
Select the Integrations > Connected.
Click on Grubhub.

4 Should show Store ready for activation for location (if all issues are resolved).
Click [Activate].

If you’re having connection issues with your Grubhub integration:
- Check the Integrations page to see if there are any error messages or prompts to resolve an issue.
- If there are no issues listed, try connecting to Grubhub again.
- If you’re still unable to connect or having issues, reach out to Otter Support for help.
Menu & Order Management Activation

All selected locations will use Otter for order management— this will take over for any current order aggregator. - Grubhub Smart Promotions are not compatible with Otter promotions. If you are receiving an error related to Smart Promotions, navigate to your Grubhub merchant portal to disable this feature.
FAQs
- If you’d like to disconnect your integration with Grubhub, reach out to the Otter Support team for help.
- No— updating your Grubhub password will not affect your integration with Otter.

After attempting to publish a menu, if there are any issues— Otter will alert you to the failed publishing event, what issue caused the failure, and the corresponding location/platform.
These alerts will show as a red banner after a failed publishing attempt (shown below).To resolve these errors, just click [View issues] and follow the prompt shown.
