ChowNow Integration Limitations

When integrating ChowNow to your Otter account, keep the following in mind (expand for more information on each):

Only 1 level of nested modifiers supported:

ChowNow only supports 1 level of nested modifiers. If you see an error while editing your menu connected to ChowNow, you will need to adjust the menu to a “flat” structure.
Nested Modifier Error
Learn more on that here.

No duplicate menu entity names:

ChowNow does not allow duplicate names for menu items, categories, modifiers, or modifier groups. To successfully publish a menu to ChowNow, you will need to ensure there aren’t 2 menu entities that share the same name.

NoteExample
Your current menu has a category named Fries. Menu items in that category are:
- Fries
- Sweet potato fries
- Curly fries

Since the category Fries and menu item Fries have the same name— before publishing to ChowNow, you’ll need to edit the name of one of those menu entities. You could rename menu item Fries to Regular Fries.

Menu photos cannot be published through Otter:

ChowNow does not support menu item photos to be managed or published through Otter. This will have to be done directly through ChowNow.

Otter promotion management is not supported:

ChowNow does not support promotions to be managed or published through Otter. This will have to be done directly through ChowNow.
