Key Features

  • Immersive Touchscreen

Designed for intuitive selection and seamless interaction, it significantly enhances the self-ordering experience, making it more engaging and efficient for customers.

Kiosk Hardware Installation

Otter offers professional Kiosk Installation service for the Kiosk Pro (27") and Kiosk (21") with no additional fee for restaurants in the United States and Canada. We will send a technician to the restaurant site to unbox, build, and install the hardware to ensure the kiosk is assembled and functioning properly.

Before the installation technician leaves, we strongly recommend running a test order on the kiosk (using your own credit card) to confirm the kiosk is ready to process transactions. If the test order is not successful, the technician will be there to help troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Kiosk installation takes approximately 1 hour per kiosk to fully set up. A manager must be present throughout the time of installation to coordinate with the technician.

Kiosk Device Pairing

All point-of-sale terminals must be paired. When you pair a device, you assign the device to your store’s physical location. To pair your device, you will need administrative access to the Otter Dashboard. Once the Kiosk is assembled and powered on, you can begin pairing the device to your Otter account.

Steps to pairing the Kiosk:

Step Process Image
1 Open the Kiosk App on your Kiosk to access the pairing code.
2 Log in to the Otter Dashboard on a browser.
3 Click on the Profile icon and select [Settings].
4 Navigate to the [Devices] tab.
5 Select [Add new device].
6 Otter will prompt you to add the pairing code displayed on the Kiosk.
7 Pairing complete! Once the kiosk is paired, it will load to the Payment Terminal Setup screen.

Payment Terminal Pairing

Now that the kiosk is paired to your Otter account and location, you can pair the S700 Payment Terminal to process credit card payments on the device.

Pairing the Payment Terminal

Step Process Image
1 Power on the S700 Payment Terminal using the top button on the right side.
2 Select the preferred [Language].
3 Select your [Country].
4

Connect to your WiFi network.

5 A pairing code will be generated.
6

On the Kiosk device, enter the auto-generated pairing code from the payment terminal into the Kiosk app.

Click [Verify Code] → [Next] → [Finish].

7

Select the store for the right menu to be displayed. Only one store’s menu can be selected for the Kiosk.

If you would like to display more than one brand’s menu, reach out to your Otter representative or Otter Support.

8 Once pairing is complete, the payment terminal will need to run an update. Follow below for additional steps.
9 The payment terminal will automatically run its update. During this process, the kiosk will display a "Terminal Disconnected" error message. This is completely normal and expected.
10 Once the update is complete, the S700 terminal will show the Otter App login screen. At the bottom of the screen, select [Reader mode].
11

The Payment Terminal is now fully paired to the Kiosk.

The kiosk will then return to the "Order & Pay Here" screen.

If the kiosk is locked in “Kiosk Mode”, you will still be able to access Kiosk Admin Settings since it is within the app. However, you cannot exit the Kiosk app to go to Device Settings if you want to change WiFi network, display brightness, or any other Android settings.

If you tap the bottom of the screen and the home bar does not appear (an arrow allowing you to exit the app), then the kiosk is locked in “Kiosk Mode.”

FAQs

  • In the event of a power outage or something causes the Kiosk to power off, follow the steps below to power back on the device. The printer should automatically come back on as long as it is plugged in, since the printer power button would be pressed down.

    • Unlock and open the kiosk display screen with the kiosk keys.
    • When you open the door, there’s a PC system module mounted to the back of the display side panel. Push the power button on the top of the PC module. The power button will turn blue when powered on.
