QR Dine-in Settings

Overview

Once you’ve created a menu, you’ll be able to configure your digital dine-in settings for your restaurant’s QR code ordering. 

In the Otter Dashboard, you can edit storefront settings to set key aspects and parameters for your dine-in QR code ordering experience. 

NoteSubscription Required
The Direct Orders bundle or QR Digital Dine-in Otter subscription is required to use dine-in QR code ordering.

 

In the dine-in QR settings, you can:

Be sure to check and/or edit Direct Order Settings for a brand or location before publishing the storefront ordering website to ensure all specifications match your business needs and operational guidelines.

 


 

Configuring QR Dine-in Settings

You can configure the settings for your QR digital dine-in from the Direct Orders App in the Otter Dashboard

You can adjust Online Order settings from an organization or location/store level. 

  • Organization level: Applies to all brands and locations
  • Location/Store level: Applies to only that location within a brand

Follow the steps below to edit QR dine-in settings.

    Edit Settings for Dine-in tab.

    Click [Save] to confirm settings.

    Settings will apply to all brands.

    Click the Locations tab.

    Click [Location Settings] for the store you’d like to edit.

    Go to Dine-in tab.

    Toggle to enable feature, if needed.

    Edit Settings for Dine-in tab.

    Click [Save] to confirm settings.

    Settings will apply to only that location.

NoteStore Level Override Settings
If settings established at the Organization level differ from what you’d like to set for a specific location, when editing at the Store level you’ll need to toggle Override settings to enable or disable the fulfillment option.

Enable Dine-in Override

This will only override the setting for that location.

 


 

QR Dine-in Settings

These settings will affect an eater’s experience while placing an order through QR codes that lead to a dine-in online ordering option.

Dine-in Setting Fields

Check out more about each setting field below:

Dine-in Orders:

Toggle ON to allow eaters to place an order for digital dine-in via QR code. Toggle OFF to disable the digital dine-in fulfillment option.

Payments:

  • Accepted Methods: Select to allow eaters to pay for online orders Online, In-person, or Both
  • Gift Card Payment: Toggle to allow gift card payments.
  • Split Payments: Allow customers to split their total bill across multiple people during checkout.


    For Online payment method, eaters will only be able to pay with a credit card. For In-person payment method, eaters will be able to pay with card or cash when picking up their order.

Tips:

Select to allow or disable tips for pickup orders, and set tip amounts and default tip choice.

Ordering:

  • Open Tab: Allow dine in customers to create a tab, add items to the open tab and eat before closing and paying for the order.
  • Collect Table Number: Allows your business to keep track of each digital dine-in order placed by eaters by assigning each order a table number.

Fees:

You can input a percentage Service Fee for all pickup fulfillment orders.

This service fee is calculated based on the subtotal and added as a line item during checkout. This will also show on the order receipt.

FAQs

  • Immediately— You'll see your Direct Orders settings updated instantly after you click the [Save] button in the Settings window.
