Frequently Asked Questions
Who is this feature available to?
- It is available to all customers subscribed to Future Foods.
How do you access it?
- It is accessible through the Customer’s Business Manager, a feature in the Financial App.
What are the guidelines for customers to report taxes on income from Future Food Brands?
- For reporting taxes on Future Foods brands income, there are three aspects:
- Report Subtotal column minus Error charges and Adjustments columns as revenue
- Report Commission column & Discounts column combined as marketing/ business partner fees
- Report Sales tax column minus Tax withheld column (Marketplace Facilitator Tax) as sales tax - How come I don’t owe taxes on certain delivery apps or orders?
How come I don’t owe taxes on certain delivery apps or orders?
If you don’t owe taxes on a certain order, it is because your state does not have sales tax on prepared goods. Instead, your state is likely classified under ‘Marketplace Facilitator Tax’ (MFT). Marketplace Facilitator Tax is when the delivery app is responsible for calculating, collecting, and remitting all order transactions/taxes made through their platform. Delivery apps are responsible for MFT orders only. The sales tax reported in your Business Manager portal is still the restaurant's responsibility.

Why are my tax rates not being acknowledged by the delivery partners?
- If you are in a marketplace facilitator state, the delivery partners will ignore the tax rates that are being published and instead apply their own tax rates to comply with the facilitator regulations. To you, this will appear like you are setting tax rates but they are not being acknowledged.
